Summer is winding down

I have often thought Oct is the beginning of the feeding frenzy that doesn't end until the first of the new year. We have 3 months of food centered holidays that always prove to be enormously challenging to dieters. It's hard to not participate on the celebrations and for most of us that means lots of sugary, rich and fattening foods. You can easily gain 15 pounds or more by the time all is said and done.

Sept is a golden opportunity for weight loss. Other than Labor Day on the 5th, we have all the way to the end of Oct before another fattening holiday. If you commit to yourself right now and forget about Labor Day, other than enjoying the day off if you have it, you could easily lose 40 to 60 pounds or more!

Let's all take some time to think about what's really important to us. Is it finding an excuse to continue to abuse our bodies with food that will only cause us more pain, or is it doing everything we can to give our bodies the tools it needs to heal and repair all the damage that has been done already? There is nothing better than good health. Waking up in the morning feeling energy and ready to face the day is the best!

So let's welcome September with enthusiasm and excitement and see what we can accomplish!
